Deep Dives: Therapy Intensives
Beyond the 50-Minute Hour
In-person in Chico, CA and online across CA & OR
The Space to Land
For many, the standard therapy hour ends just as the real work begins. If you spend the first twenty minutes shifting out of the momentum of your day, you’re left with a very narrow window to actually do the deep, structural work you’re here for. An Intensive is simply an 80-minute block—a larger container designed to bypass that friction so we can move directly into what matters without the interruption of the clock.
Moving at the Speed of the Work
By moving to a longer-format session, we provide your nervous system with the necessary space—or “Ma”— to fully settle and open up. We move at the speed of your physiology rather than the speed of the schedule.
80-minute sessions are beneficial for EMDR reprocessing, Experiential Sandtray, AEDP deep-dive sessions, relational therapy, and for anyone who wants an accelerated process.
Returning to the World
The goal is for you to leave the office feeling recalibrated. Whether you are heading back to a clinic, an office, or a complex family dynamic, the extended time ensures the work is woven into your actual baseline, rather than remaining just another "insight" you have to carry.
The Investment: $330 per 80-minute session
Ready to step back into your life?
You’ve spent enough time watching your life from the ceiling, performing a version of "fine" that no longer fits. It is time to move beyond the cycle of endurance and into a life that is actually yours to inhabit.

No. An Intensive is a different clinical "gear." Instead of the stop-and-start nature of weekly 50-minute sessions, the 80-minute format allows us to reach the "flow state" of therapy. This leads to deeper processing and more significant movement in a single sitting than is often possible in multiple shorter appointments.
-
While it is a strategic choice for some to navigate scheduling challenges—for medical professionals and executives—for others, it is invaluable in processing complex trauma, long-form sandtray sessions, and “slow settlers” (someone who needs the time to talk through their week to warm up).
-
Yes. Many clients use standard sessions for ongoing maintenance and "bridge" work, while scheduling an 80-minute Intensive when they are navigating a particularly complex transition or want to do a deep-dive into EMDR or Sandtray.
-
It can be. The 80-minute format is the gold standard for EMDR and AEDP, as it provides the necessary time to open, process, and safely close a "stuck" file without feeling emotionally unraveled at the end of the hour. You may additionally chose to use the 80 minute session for long-form sandtray therapy.
