<image:title>In Process: A Blog - Crafting an Inhabited Life - Sometimes the process feels counter-intuitive, perhaps even tedious at times.</image:title>
<image:caption>It requires us to slow down and move with intention and precision. In sewing, we often have to put the “wrong sides” of the fabric together first. We work with raw edges and the hidden layers so that when we get to the final step, we can turn it right-side out and know, with certainty, that it won’t unravel on us.</image:caption>

<image:title>In Process: A Blog - The Invisible Patient: A Clinical Diagnostic Tool For Burnout - Making the Invisible Visible</image:title>
<image:caption>As an AEDP therapist, my job is to make these forces visible. While I have the luxury of hour-long sessions, I know medical providers often have only fifteen minutes. To protect your nervous system, I propose a three-step Internal System Check: Inventory: Periodically assess your "internal weather." Are you feeling helplessness, irritability, or a sudden questioning of your own clinical competence? The Diagnostic Question: Ask yourself: “Is this my anxiety, or am I holding my patient’s feelings?” If the answer isn't clear, "try on" both scenarios. Which one resonates more in your body? The Return: If the feeling belongs to the patient, give it back through a mental boundary. Internally, visualize handing the weight back. Externally, it sounds like: “I can see how overwhelming this is. I want to ensure we make a sound clinical decision here, rather than a rushed one.”</image:caption>

<image:title>In Process: A Blog - Warped Peace - High-achievers become masters at sewing without thread. You do the work, attend the meetings, and care for your family. The needle is moving, and the feed-dogs are pulling the fabric through. It looks like progress. It feels like productivity. But when you lift the presser foot, you realize there was no thread connecting the pieces. You are left with disconnected scraps and a row of empty needle holes. You have achieved an efficient life, but you are nowhere to be found. What do we do when we realize we’re sewing without thread? We don’t need a more complex machine. We need to take our foot off the pedal, take a breath, and look at the fabric.</image:title>

<image:title>In Process: A Blog - When A Sail Becomes an Anchor - Many of us become supports to others due to our sturdiness. But when a sail becomes an anchor, the ship can go down alarmingly fast.</image:title>
<image:caption>Early on, I learned to be the "good daughter"—quiet, compliant, and perfect at every note on the violin. That ability to attune to others is why I became a therapist. But that same strength can quickly become an exhausting performance of competence. A Quick Vitals Check: Where is your sturdiness on the scale today? The Observer: You click into "expert mode" before entering the room, but you feel like you’re watching yourself from the ceiling. You are competent, but you aren't actually there. The Cage: Your stubbornness has lost its flexibility. You’ve stopped asking "why" and are just focused on getting the task "over with." You are tired of standing in the current. The Reflexive "Yes": You agree to another shift or committee seat not because you want to, but because the thought of being "unreliable" feels viscerally painful. The Body’s Protest: You feel the tightness in your chest or a "melting face" exhaustion. You’ve become an expert at silencing your body, but the shelved emotions are starting to speak. If these vitals are flagged, know that you don't have to double-down and out-endure the weight alone. We aren’t meant to be anchors forever. If you’re tired of endurance and ready to find your sails again, I’m here to help you navigate the way back.</image:caption>

<image:title>In Process: A Blog - My word of 2026 - For perhaps my entire life, I’ve always been on the go.</image:title>
<image:caption>Since I was a child. I tell people that “I grew up in the car.” I thought in adulthood, by 34 years old, I had finally gotten better at standing still. Until my life got turned upside down, and I had to face that the 34 year old version of me wasn’t all that different from the child version of me. Always on the go.</image:caption>
